Nightdrive with you

You’re driving us down to the sunset,
Where the wind blows warm on the sand
Where the old trees smile to the Ocean
It feels like your smile is feeding the day
It’s like the flowers are dancing on your way

Mad men S1E1

Don Draper: So, without making things worse, can i ask you a personal question?

Rachel Menken (RM): Don’t you want to get a second drink in me first?

DD (Ignores her question): Why aren’t you married?

RM: Are you asking what’s wrong with me?

DD: It’s just that you’re a beautiful, educated woman. Don’t you think getting married and having a family would make you happier than all the headaches that go along with… fighting people like me?

RM: If I weren’t a woman, I would be allowed to ask you the same question. And if I weren’t a woman, I wouldn’t have to choose between putting on an apron and the thrill of making my father’s store what I always thought it should be.

DD: So that’s it. You won’t get married because you find business to be a throw.

RM: That and (takes a drag on her cigarette)… I’ve never been in love.

DD: She won’t get married because she’s never been in love. I think I wrote that once to sell nylons.

RM: For alot of people, love isn’t just a slogan.

DD: OH, you mean love. You mean the big lightning bolt to the heart, where you can’t eat and you can’t work and you just run off and get married and make babies. The reason you haven’t felt it is because it doesn’t exist. What you call love was invented by guys like me to sell nylons.

RM: Is the right?

DD: I’m pretty sure about it. You’re born alone and you die alone and this world just drops a bunch of rules on top of you to make you forget those facts. But I never forget. I’m living like there’s no tomorrow… because there isn’t one. (sips his whiskey)

RM: I don’t think I realised it until this moment, but it must be hard being a man, too.

DD: Excuse me?

RM: Mr Draper…

DD: Don

RM: Mr Draper, I don’t know what it is you really believe in, but I do know what it feels like to be out of place, to be disconnected, to see the whole world laid out in front of you, the way other people live it. There is something about you that tells me you know it too

DD: I don’t know if that’s true, you want another drink?

RM: No, but you can tell your boss you charmed me. (gets up and leave)

Suddenly I viddied what I had to do, and what I had wanted to do, and that was to do myself in. To snuff it. To blast off forever out of this wicked, cruel world. One moment of pain, perhaps, and then sleep forever and ever and ever.

house of pain

We all live in an artificial world, built upon by your bare hands and 2 decades of marriage.
We were blind believers in your world, everything was perfect and nothing hurt.
Blind as we may be, there were obvious cracks that we didn’t miss,
but we chose to ignore it because we need you would fix it.
yeah, fix the word

diary entry of Franz Kafka

I Guess I could be pretty pissed off at what happened to me.

But it is hard to stay mad when there’s SO much Beauty in the world…
And… sometimes I feel like…
I’m seeing it all at once…
and it’s too much…

my heart fills up like a ballon thats about to burst.

and then…
I remember…
to relax…
and stop trying to hold on to it.

and it flows through me like rain
and I can’t feel anything but gratitude.

For every single moment of my simple little life.

You have no idea what I’m talking about - I’m sure.

But…
don’t worry…

You will…

someday.

closing monologue from American beauty

A beautiful girl can make you dizzy, like you’ve been drinking Jack and Coke all morning. She can make you feel high; full of the single greatest commodity known to man: promise. Promise of a better day. Promise of a greater hope. Promise of a new tomorrow. This particular aura can be found in the gait of a beautiful girl. In her smile and in her soul.. and the way she makes every rotten little thing about life seem like it’s going to be okay.
